The Camblish School of Social Welfare and Development is a centre of excellence for the training of mature persons engaged in the field of social services in a wide variety of accredited programmes designed to contribute to effective functioning of the family, youth and community development for the South African and African societies.

The School provides effective training for para-professional social work practitioners, equipping them with the skills necessary to confront the challenges of present day African society and to expand research in social services and youth studies. Through its accredited training programmes, the school also aim at recognizing outstanding social workers and practitioners; informing social policy by serving as a signal scientific source of information for the social work profession and agencies seeking information; promoting the examination of social policy and the application of research to the design and development of more effective public policies, social welfare programs, and social work practice; and celebrating excellence in research, education, and development.
